South Africa 2018 Retreat

I spent the whole of November and half of December 2018, in the village in Mpumalanga, South Africa, renovating my mom's house and turning it into a retreat space/ guest house.

It was truly one of the most emotionally, physically and spiritually taxing tasks I have ever undertaken.

Celebrating My First Christmas in South Korea:

A few weeks ago, we drew names out of a hat and had to buy a gift for that person and bring the gift today. The gift shouldn't cost more than US$10 and as luck would have it - I drew the name of one of my favorite people that I host weekly dinners with. So of course, I broke the rule and went a little over the budget.

For the first time in my life, I have an investment portfolio and am focusing my attention on growing this portfolio.

Getting to this point has been a journey of emotional ups and downs.

One of the emotions I struggled with for years was frustration and anger about money and not having enough money to buy food, let alone save or invest.

Learning how to budget and plan my finances was one of the ways I saved money. Even now, a budget helps me see where my money is going and to keep track of all my finances.
