How to Connect With Your Womb Wisdom
What Is Womb Wisdom?
When I talk about womb wisdom, I'm talking about developing a deeper relationship with your body and learning to trust the intelligence that exists beyond your thinking mind.
For me, my womb has become a place of guidance.
Over the years, I've noticed that when I become quiet and listen, I receive insights I couldn't have arrived at through logic alone.
I've experienced moments where I've asked my body to delay my menstrual cycle because I was traveling, and other times I've sensed emotions held in my womb before I consciously understood what I was feeling.
Have you ever had a quiet inner knowing that didn't make logical sense?
A feeling in your body that gently nudged you in a different direction?
For years, I've learned to pay attention to those moments by cultivating a relationship with my womb.
Recently, I was having a conversation with Jalisa Hardy about my Next Level You Womb and Money Journal, and once again I found myself reflecting on the incredible wisdom our bodies carry when we slow down enough to listen.
When I've experienced heartbreak or grief, I've noticed my body responding long before my mind has caught up.
These experiences have taught me that my body is constantly communicating.
The question is whether I'm listening.
The Decision That Didn't Make Sense
A few years ago, I was writing my book in the village and was planning to go back to Cape Town. Everything had been arranged, but during one of my womb meditations, I had a strong sense that I needed to stay in my village instead.
At first, I assumed the message was about family.
For the first time in years, I had spent several weeks with my mother without being emotionally triggered, which felt significant. I thought perhaps I simply needed more time to embody that healing, so I stayed.
At the time South Africa was experiencing frequent load shedding (power cuts), and like many people, I expected it to disrupt my work, instead, staying in the village turned out to be remarkably easy.
Although we lost electricity, cellphone reception remained strong, allowing me to continue working using mobile data whenever the Wi-Fi went down.
My mother already had rechargeable lights.
One of her patients unexpectedly gave me a power bank.
Whenever I forgot to prepare a meal before the electricity went off, there was a nearby restaurant with generators just a five-minute walk away.
Everything I needed seemed to be available exactly when I needed it.
As I finished writing my book, I realized that staying had given me the peace and stability my nervous system needed to finish the book and it was cheaper than it I had moved to Cape Town.
Looking back, what initially felt inconvenient became exactly where I was meant to be.
The More I Heal, the More Clearly I Can Listen
One thing I've learned over the years is that our bodies are always communicating.
Trauma doesn't remove our inner wisdom but it can make it much harder to hear.
When we've spent years living in survival mode, disconnected from our bodies, constantly scanning for danger, it becomes difficult to distinguish fear from intuition.
Healing changes that.
As we regulate our nervous systems and reconnect with our bodies, many of us begin noticing subtle forms of inner guidance we couldn't access before. For me, that guidance often comes through my relationship with my womb. For someone else, it may come through breathwork, prayer, meditation, journaling, or simply learning to notice how their body responds to different people and situations.
The practice matters less than the willingness to listen.
We Carry Wisdom in Our Bodies
One of the beliefs that deeply informs my work is that our bodies hold more than memories of our own lives, they also carry the stories, resilience, and wisdom of the generations that came before us.
At the same time, they may carry inherited patterns of fear, scarcity, and survival. This is why healing isn't only about changing your thoughts, 8t's about reconnecting with your body.
As we gently heal childhood wounds, family patterns, and ancestral trauma, we create more space to access the wisdom that has always been there, not because we're becoming someone new, but because we're remembering parts of ourselves that survival required us to forget.
Learning to Trust Your Inner Wisdom
My relationship with my womb has shaped many of the decisions I've made over the years, it has guided my travels, it has influenced my business, it has helped me make decisions that, at the time, didn't always make logical sense but later revealed themselves to be exactly what I needed.
That's why womb healing has become such an important part of my work, because wisdom doesn’t exist only in our minds.
Sometimes the answers we're searching for begin by becoming quiet enough to hear what our bodies have been trying to tell us all along.
A Simple Womb Connection Practice
Take a few slow, deep breaths and place two hands in the shape of a triangle over your lower abdomen. Allow your body to soften and gently bring your attention to your womb space. Without trying to force an answer, ask, "What do you want me to know today?" or "What do you need from me today?" Then simply listen. You may notice a feeling, an emotion, a word, an image, or you may notice nothing at all and that's okay, do this everyday and eventually your womb will respond. Like any relationship, connecting with your womb begins by building trust and making time to listen with curiosity rather than expectation.
If this is resonating with you, I recommend getting The Next Level You Womb & Money Journal.
