Teaching in South Korea is such an adventure:

Notes my students leave me after driving me crazy with their constant chatter in class. And screaming "OMG" and "No way teacher I don’t like this game cos I’m losing."

And this is after our agreement where I let them rap in Hangul before class and put on a show for us. They even used the mic. It was def cool

People told me Korean kids are shy and listen to teachers etc. I pray for such students. I have a mic in my class and I use it every day...that should tell u all u needs to know.

I spend my days negotiating and screaming things like: "please put the gun away (toy gun), please stop throwing pillows at each other, please don't sit on each other's laps, let’s try not to do make up in class, or yes I know I have a lot of earrings, thank you".... why? because.... teenagers

Oh, and I’m constantly confiscating things but I always end up laughing constantly in all my classes cos I can't believe the things teens say and do.

And I genuinely love how my students drop in between classes jus to say hi and check on me and talk.

Also, so many of my students keep asking me not to go back to South Africa.
